My numbers don't match the ad platform
The four causes of a spend or conversion mismatch, in order of likelihood.
Writes and maintains the Paid Lens documentation, from first connection to workspace administration.
Small differences are expected and usually explainable in under five minutes. Work through these in order.
1. Timezone
The platform reports in its account timezone; Paid Lens re-buckets to the workspace timezone. Compare a full week rather than a single day to remove this effect.
2. Attribution window
Platforms default to click-through windows of 7 to 30 days and backfill conversions retroactively. Numbers for the last 3 days always move.
3. Currency conversion
Multi-currency accounts are converted at the daily closing rate for the spend date, not today's rate.
4. Sync lag
Check the last sync timestamp on the connection card. If it is more than 6 hours old, trigger a manual resync.
Frequently asked
- How large a difference is normal?
- Under 2% on spend over a full week. Anything larger usually points at account selection — check that every account is connected.
- Which number should I trust?
- For spend, the platform. For revenue and pipeline, your CRM, which is what Paid Lens reports against.
